Due to the nature of their tasks, production workers are particularly exposed to accidents. In order to prevent this, a periodic check of protective equipment should be carried out, including the measurement of the stop time.

HOW IS THE STOP TIME MEASUREMENT PERFORMED? STOP TIME MEASUREMENT

A specific distance is required between the hazard element, such as a moving machine part, and a protective measure, such as a safety curtain . The stop time measurement has the task of determining the safe distance between the protective device and the hazard.

During this process, a stop time meter is used. A device for measuring the time that elapses between the activation of a technical protection measure and the stopping of an actuator or machine.

The stop time measurement service is completed with the issue of a certificate confirming that the safety standards of the tested elements are met.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD THIS TEST BE CARRIED OUT?
Some machines have a well-defined testing interval. In this case, they should be performed in accordance with these recommendations. For machinery not listed in standards based on the Machinery Directive, testing may be performed in accordance with the company's internal safety procedures.
